It was on Friday when Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister, said that his wife Bushra Bibi had been fed food laced with “toilet cleaner.”
In the £190 million corruption reference hearing in the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Imran told Judge Nasir Javed Rana that more walls had been put up in the courtroom, giving the impression that it was a closed court.
Dr. Asim Yousaf, Chief Medical Officer of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, suggested that Bushra Bibi’s tests be carried out at Shifa International Hospital, according to Khan. He did, however, note that the jail management was emphatic about holding the examination at the hospital affiliated with the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
