Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, established a committee on Monday to develop legislation pertaining to social media rules.
Azam Nazir Tarar, the Federal Law Minister, announced the committee’s formation during a news conference in Islamabad. He pointed out that other nations have already passed laws governing social media.
The advisor to Premier Rana Sanaullah will preside over the recently established committee, which has been approved by the cabinet.
This committee is entrusted with holding stakeholder engagements in order to develop thorough recommendations for the proposed legislation.
