Naila Kiani has an unmatched record in mountaineering, and in her new position, she hopes to promote federal and provincial government projects and draw attention to the value of girls’ education throughout Pakistan. She is the first female Pakistani climber of 11 of the 14 highest summits over 8,000 meters and the third Pakistani overall.
She is notable for being the first female Pakistani climber of an 8,000-meter mountain in the country. Additionally, Kiani is the first woman from Pakistan to have summited Lhotse, Manaslu, Broad Peak, Annapurna, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I (G-I), Gasherbrum II (G-II), and Lhotse.
She is the only mountain climber from Pakistan and one of the top ten climbers in the world to have scaled seven summits above 8,000 meters in less than six months in 2023. Moreover, she has climbed all eleven 8,000-meter summits in less than three years, making her the quickest Pakistani of any gender.
The highest civilian award granted to a female athlete in Pakistan, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, has only been bestowed upon her. As a banker and aerospace engineer, she thinks that education is essential to empowering women. She will put in endless effort as an ambassador to increase awareness of the significance of it.
