Babar Azam, Pakistan’s white-ball captain, stated on Thursday that the squad is still on course even after losing to England 2-0 in the series.
Following Pakistan’s seven-wicket loss to England in the fourth Twenty20 International, Babar addressed the post-match press conference here, reflecting on the national team’s experience since the Asia Cup 2023 and reiterating that the team could not gel.
“We’re headed in the right direction. However, we can’t seem to click as a team. You require time to adjust to new circumstances and get back on track.
Since our support personnel is new, we will need some time to get to know them.
We play as individuals, not as a team, because we are accustomed to playing for various managers.
I need us to work together as a team.
Despite calling the series loss to England “disappointing,” Abbar Azam maintained his optimism that the team would do well in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
“The series loss is disappointing,” Babar remarked.
“We had to win the series in order to feel confident heading into the T20 World Cup.” “We will perform better in the World Cup; it’s a whole different game,” he continued.
