Information secretary for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Raoof Hassan, has claimed that a coordinated attempt is being made to keep PTI founder Imran Khan behind bars and has suggested that this effort is a part of a larger “London plan”.
During a news conference on Wednesday in Islamabad, the prominent member of the PTI criticized the government’s strategy and raised concerns about the judiciary’s reaction.
Hassan emphasized remarks made by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, who is purported to have stated that every effort will be taken to keep Imran Khan behind bars.
“Did the Chief Justice hear this voice?” Raoof Hassan asked, meaning that such claims ought to be investigated by the courts.
The Chief Justice must both behave better and uphold the dignity of his office, the PTI official stressed.
He called the current happenings a “spectacle” and implied that the court is not operating with objectivity. “Yesterday and the day before yesterday there was a spectacle,” he said.
Hassan claimed that PTI was beaten by the “worst rigging” in the most recent polls, accusing the government of manipulating the elections. He demanded that the activities of the Rawalpindi Commissioner be looked into. “Did the Chief Justice think that he should find out about the Commissioner Rawalpindi where he is?” Hassan asked.
