Monday’s high fever resulted in the admission of at least 67 patients to Karachi’s Civil Hospital.
Although the sources state that the reported individuals had fever, Dr. Nizam Shaikh, who oversees the heat stroke ward, claims that all of the patients had fevers of 101 degrees.
A high fever was reported by eighteen people, however heatstroke was not verified.
Dr. Nizam claims that the excessive heat is causing high fever and other ailments to emerge. He suggested that folks stay indoors during this season and consume more water.
However, the meteorological agency reports that while the temperature in Karachi may reach 40 or 41 degrees, the heat index may reach 46 degrees.
