ISLAMABAD: According to a statement from the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Seismic Network, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday rocked Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, and various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the seismic center, the epicenter was 22 kilometers deep in southeast Afghanistan.
Damage from the most recent earthquake was not immediately reported.
A magnitude-6.0 earthquake that struck late Sunday night near the epicentre of the tremor devastated rural communities in hilly districts near the Pakistani border.
The earthquake was detected late Tuesday by the US Geological Survey.
