Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), demanded that farmers in areas affected by natural disasters not be required to pay energy bills.
Details emerged on Friday that Bhutto-Zardari called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after visiting flood-affected Kasur people to discuss the issues and challenges farmers in the area were facing.
Bhutto-Zardari has pleaded with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to cooperate with the state administration in order to help Punjabi farmers.
According to sources, Bhutto-Zardari informed the prime minister that Punjab’s agriculture industry had suffered significant losses as a result of the recent floods. According to him, the federal government needs to contribute to helping farmers throughout the province.
