A deal has been reached by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to propose united constitutional revisions.
Following a meeting with a delegation led by PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated at a press conference in Islamabad that “consensus can be achieved whether it involves a constitutional court or any bench.”
He emphasized that voting on the proposed constitutional modifications can only occur after both parties have reached a consensus on the revisions.
It was decided that discussions with the PTI and other parties would follow the preparation of a compromise draft based on the PPP’s proposed legislation. “Involving all parties in the process is the goal.”
