With a decisive 41-run victory against Bangladesh in the Super Four round at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, India advanced to the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final and eliminated the tournament’s reigning champions, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh’s choice to bowl first backfired as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, India’s openers, quickly reached a 77-run partnership in seven overs.
Before falling to Rishad Hossain, Gill had hit a quick 29 off 19 balls, but Abhishek kept up the attack, hitting 75 off 37 deliveries with five sixes and six fours.
India faltered momentarily after he was run out in the 12th over, but Hardik Pandya (38 off 29) and Axar Patel kept the innings steady.
