ISLAMABAD: Ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif virtually opened the Gwadar International Airport, a component of the multibillion dollar CPEC project. They arrived in Islamabad earlier today for a four-day official visit.
During the occasion at the Prime Minister House, both prime ministers unveiled the Gwadar airport plaque. Members of both delegations, ministries, military commanders, and top authorities attended the ceremony.
“The historic accomplishment was centered around the well-established camaraderie between the two nations,” Prime Minister Shehbaz declared during the official opening of the recently finished Gwadar airport.
He expressed the hope that the establishment of this international airport would significantly impact the economy of Pakistan and Gwadar in particular.
