Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has harshly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “dragging war into sport,” claiming that such statements diminish the spirit of the game.
Retaliating against Modi, Naqvi, the nation’s interior minister, warned that politicizing sport with violence was a sign of desperation rather than pride and that history already documented India’s crushing defeats at the hands of Pakistan.
“History already documents your humiliating losses at the hands of Pakistan if war was your yardstick. That truth cannot be altered by a cricket match. In an X post, Naqvi stated, “Dragging war into sport only exposes desperation and disgrace the very spirit of the game.”
