LAHORE: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), emphasized on Tuesday that the Palestinians must choose the two-state solution for themselves and that no solution can be imposed on them.
Recalling Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s definition of Israel as illegitimate, the preacher reiterated Pakistan’s longtime position of not recognizing the state during a press conference held at Jamia Ashrafia.
In response to a query, he stated that the US was still backing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despite the fact that the International Court of Justice had ruled him a criminal.
