To apprehend demonstrators, federal police officers entered Islamabad’s National Press Club.
Details that came to light on Thursday claim that the cops damaged the cafeteria and used force against journalists. On suspicion of participating in the protests, journalists were arrested. The police left through the rear entrance as the Press Club members gathered.
After learning about the event, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi asked the Islamabad IG Inspector General for a report. “Regrettable” is how Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar described the incident.
Senior authorities have been urged by journalists to take action in response to the police’s violent invasion, assault on employees, and destruction of the Press Club.
