Texas authorities continue searching for 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who disappeared on Christmas Eve after failing to return from her usual morning walk.
What She Was Wearing
Officials say Olmos left on foot. She had her car key and possibly her driver’s license with her. She was wearing a baby-blue and black hoodie, baby-blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.
Family Concerns
Olmos’ mother, Nancy Olmos, told authorities her daughter normally returns from her morning walk on time. The family found her cellphone turned off in her room.
“She’s not the kind of person to leave home abruptly,” Nancy said.
Authorities’ Statement
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said Olmos is believed to be in “imminent danger.” He noted that her mental health may have been a factor, mentioning she has experienced “some depression issues.”
The sheriff added, “We have to look at the whole gamut of possibilities. Did she leave the country? Did she leave with someone else? Has she been taken against her will?”
Friends Speak Out
Friends described Camila as fun-loving and active in church. They expressed shock at her sudden disappearance.
“It’s completely not normal to know that she’s not home,” a friend, Estrella, told Baner Club affiliate WOAI-TV in San Antonio.
