QUETTA: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi pledged to strengthen the professional capacities of Balochistan’s law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in order to successfully confront the threat of terrorism, one day after the horrific terrorist attack at Quetta railway station.

In a meeting with Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti in the provincial capital on Sunday, the security czar declared, “The Center will give the Balochistan government full support to maintain peace and eradicate terrorism from the province.”

On Saturday morning, a suicide explosion tore through Quetta Railway Station, killing 27 people—including the suicide bomber and security guards—and injuring 62 more. Many people were waiting to board the Jaffar Express when the explosion occurred.
