Residents of Lahore are still plagued by intense fog, as the city topped the global pollution rankings on Thursday.
Lahore had the worst air quality index (AQI) in the world, at 1,039, according to live ratings from Swiss organization IQAir. New Delhi came in second with an AQI of 422 at roughly 10:48 a.m.
Lahore dropped to second place for the worst air quality on Wednesday, and this comes after that.
The AQI scale classifies an index value of 300 or above as “hazardous” to health, while Lahore has routinely recorded levels in the 800–1,000 range.
