The White House announced on Tuesday that US President Joe Biden’s Middle East advisor is in the region for discussions on a potential extended agreement to free Israeli hostages in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, Brett McGurk was in Egypt and will travel to other nations to talk about “the potential for another hostage deal, which would require a humanitarian pause of some length.”
