Strict measures have been decided upon by the civil-military leadership against those elements engaged in any illegal activity, such as smuggling, power theft, corruption, or running criminal mafias.

The decisions were made at a high-level conference on Friday that was headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and included civil-military leadership. The meeting’s agenda included “measures against spectrum of illegal activities and criminal mafias.”

Attending the important meeting were chief ministers, members of the federal cabinet, and General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

The attendees received a thorough briefing on the actions taken against criminal mafias, smuggling, stockpiling, money laundering, power theft, and the repatriation of undocumented foreign nationals, among other issues.

They also recognized the significance of these initiatives and their beneficial effects on Pakistan’s economy and populace.

The summit demonstrated a strong resolve to act against market manipulators, hoarders, and smugglers who have harmed the country’s economic trajectory while also offering urgent assistance to regular people.

In order to completely eradicate power theft, the meeting approved agreements between the federal and provincial governments on anti-power theft policies, reorganized power distribution companies (Discos) on contemporary lines, installed smart meters, and mandated strict action against dishonest officers.

COAS Munir pledged the Pakistan Army’s steadfast commitment to backing government programs targeted at the nation’s economic development.
