A minimum of sixty individuals experienced symptoms of gastroenteritis, such as cramping, diarrhea, and vomiting; fifty-seven of them sought medical attention in a hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force, fire engines, 17 ambulances, and a mass decontamination vehicle were dispatched to the ByteDance premises, according to a report by The Straits Times.
News is aware that ByteDance does not prepare food on site and instead hires outside vendors for its office canteen.
A ByteDance representative informed News, “We are looking into the matter and are working with the appropriate authorities on this.”

They continued by saying that the business has “taken immediate steps to support all affected employees, including coordinating care delivery with emergency services.”The Singapore Food Agency and Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that they were looking into possible cases of gastroenteritis in a joint statement that was given to the News.
According to the statement, as of July 30, 2024, 60 people had been reported to have experienced symptoms of gastroenteritis; of those, 57 had sought medical care in hospitals.
