Cambridge Water reported that several of its services were unavailable this afternoon in a post on X.
The water business stated, “A problem with our website is affecting several services, including MyAccount and PayNow, due to global issues with Microsoft Azure.”

“We are investigating reports of issues connecting to Microsoft services globally,” Microsoft stated in response to user complaints about its services.

A “improvement in service availability” and “continuing to monitor to ensure full recovery” were the company’s announcements following the apparent implementation of a remedy.

However, the service status page continued to display global difficulties.Users on DownDetector, a website that tracks downtime issues for IT services, have reported thousands of difficulties.

Several websites, such as Fabrik, which showcases creative portfolios, and Thalamus, which posts job openings in the medical field, reported problems since Microsoft Azure is powering their operations.

The incident occurred less than two weeks after a significant IT failure that brought down the world’s transportation and healthcare systems due to a faulty software upgrade that affected Microsoft machines. CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity outfit.
