Alec Baldwin’s legal troubles are now about to get worse as he is being charged for accidentally shooting and killing cameraman Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin’s financial condition is apparently getting worse as he fights the court battle.
The 65-year-old Emmy winner is “scared of going broke,” according to a source who spoke with Star magazine, because he has “already spent hundreds of thousands” on his legal counsel.
Baldwin, who could spend up to 18 months in prison for the shooting of Halyna, recently marketed his $19 million Hamptons house.
Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted the Boss Baby actor on an involuntary manslaughter allegation. Baldwin has entered a new not guilty plea. The actor argued that he didn’t pull the trigger as the basis for his defense.
but let off of the hammer, causing the gun to discharge. Joel Souza, the director, who survived the gunshot but chose not to file a police report, as well as Halyna were both hurt.
The assertion made by prosecutors that the trigger had to be pulled is corroborated by forensic evidence.
At this point, Baldwin’s legal team is requesting a swift trial to shield him from “public vilification and suspicion.” Public television will cover the trial. Baldwin’s bail restrictions include no firearms, no alcohol consumption, and no international travel, with only restricted communication permitted with Rust witnesses.
