Samantha Mostyn will become the next Governor-General of Australia, as King Charles III has consented on the prime minister Anthony Albanese’s suggestion.
The palace reposted an Australian government post confirming Samantha’s appointment.
“King Charles III, on my recommendation, has approved the appointment of Ms Samantha Mostyn AO as Australia’s next Governor-General,” the Australian Prime Minister’s office stated.
When Ms. Mostyn takes the oath of office on July 1, 2024, she will succeed His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) and become Australia’s 28th Governor-General.
