The singer-songwriter is up for prizes including best new artist, artist of the year, and album of the year for her debut record, My 21st Century Blues, and also has two entries in the song of the year category.
It completes an incredible comeback for the singer, who debuted at the top of the charts at the beginning of 2023 and made it to the shortlist for the esteemed Mercury Prize after a public fallout with her previous label in 2021.
After it was revealed that she had shattered the Brit Awards record for the most nominations received by a single artist in any given year, Raye called it a “miracle”. The previous record, which stood at six, was shared by Gorillaz (2002), Craig David (2001), and Robbie Williams (1999).
“A year-and-a-half ago as far as the industry was concerned, I was down and out,” she stated. “The ultimate goal was to find my way somehow to the Brit Awards.”
She ended her message to her followers with, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
