Following nearly 13 years of marriage, Earl Charles Spencer and his wife Karen Spencer are divorcing.
The late Princess Diana’s younger brother disclosed the split to The Mail on Sunday.
The British aristocracy described the divorce to the newspaper as “extremely sad.” “I just want to devote myself to all my children and to my grandchildren, and I wish Karen every happiness in the future.”

The publication claims that the 9th Earl Spencer’s union with the Countess of Spencer came to an end when he was penning his autobiography, “A Very Private School.” The two initially made their separation known in secret.
Spencer is “becoming close to” Norwegian archeologist Dr. Cat Jarman, according to the outlet as well. That may be “early days,” but they “look very happy together.”
Along with Spencer and Rev. Richard Coles, Jarman co-hosts the historical podcast “The Rabbit Hole Detectives”.
In June 2011, Spencer and 52-year-old Karen exchanged vows at Althorp House. Two months had passed since Prince William, Spencer’s nephew, wed Kate Middleton. After their marriage, Spencer and his sister Diana moved into Althorp House, the old English mansion where they were raised. Their daughter Charlotte Diana, who is twelve years old, was named after her royal aunt.
