Danny Masterson’s sexual assault case took a significant turn for the worse.
The 47-year-old actor was denied bail by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo on Wednesday, citing his fear of running away.
The judge decided that Danny will probably “remain in custody for the deceased and perhaps the rest of his life,” according to the court order that Deadline was able to obtain.
In addition, the court declared that one of the contributing factors in its conclusion was the defendant’s ongoing divorce from his wife, Bijou Phillips.
“The defendant now has every incentive to flee and little reason to return to state prison to serve out the remainder of his lengthy sentence should his appeal be granted, given that he has no wife to return home to.”
Case of Danny Masterson: In May 2023, the That 70s Show alum was found guilty on two counts of rape. In 2020, he was accused of raping three women “forcibly” in different incidents.
A few months following his conviction in September 2023, he received a 30-year prison sentence for the offenses.
In the month that followed the decision, Bijou filed for divorce from the actor, alleging “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their 12-year marriage’s breakdown.
