According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 245 people tragically lost their lives as a result of the recent monsoon rains and floods that affected the entire nation from July 1 to August 27.
With 92 recorded deaths, Punjab has been the worst affected, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 74 deaths.
47 deaths were reported in Sindh, and 22 deaths were reported in Balochistan. In addition, six persons in Gilgit-Baltistan and four in Kashmir have died as a result of the extreme weather.
There were 48 women and 121 children among the dead. As a result of the calamities, 446 people—158 men, 107 women, and 181 children—have also sustained injuries.
