Manager Jurgen Klopp is dealing with an increasing number of injury problems, with important players like as Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai out for the forthcoming encounter against Luton at Anfield.

In addition to Jota’s long-term absence, Jones departed the pitch on crutches with an ankle injury during the Brentford match.

Goalkeepers Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai are all injured, as are Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip.

Klopp conceded on Tuesday that the injury situation is far from ideal.

“As much as I’d like to say we have no problems, we do,” Klopp admitted. “Ali (Becker) is out with a muscle issue.

Diogo is out due to a knee injury, while Curtis is out due to a bone/ligament issue. The others are struggling with day-to-day muscle difficulties, and we’ll determine their availability for tomorrow.

Regarding Jota’s recovery time, Klopp stated, “With Diogo, it will certainly take months. The recuperation process differs for each player, with critical days such as day five or day ten being vital markers.

We will base our decisions on their pain levels and unique responses to treatment. Unfortunately, I am unable to specify a definite timeline.

Liverpool, which is presently two points ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League, faces Luton at home on Wednesday.

Klopp emphasized the significance of the squad’s depth and commended the players who stepped up in the face of injuries.

“Our current position is a testament to the entire squad,” Klopp said. “The boys have delivered when called upon. We’ll assess the available options and give opportunities to those in good form.

Our squad has demonstrated their capabilities, and we’re relying on their contributions as we navigate through competitions like the League Cup final against Chelsea, as well as our involvement in the FA Cup and Europa League.”
