Two government ministers have announced that SpaceX owner Elon Musk will visit Indonesia on Sunday to launch the space agency’s satellite unit, Starlink.
President Joko Widodo’s close supporter Minister Luhut Pandjaitan reportedly disclosed that Musk, 52, would join the leader of the nation on the vacation island of Bali to introduce the service. This information was reported by Reuters.
This would be the tech billionaire’s first trip to Indonesia personally.
He has, however, before spoken via video link at an Indonesian convention.
Musk is also expected to appear at the World Water Forum in Bali, as Luhut had previously disclosed.
Musk was supposed to sign a deal at a clinic in Denpasar, the capital of Bali, where the Starlink launch will take place.
