Twelve years after making his debut against the West Indies, Yorkshire batsman Bairstow will hit the milestone in the fifth Test match against India in Dharamsala.
According to Bairstow, “it’s an amazing week, an amazing place, and an amazing occasion,” as he stated to news Sport.
“To be enjoying the event while out and about with some of your closest friends. I’m eagerly anticipating it.”
After Ben Stokes became the first player to reach 100 caps for England in the third Test of the series, Bairstow, 34, is now the captain of that team.
Bairstow’s path has not been as simple as that of his peers, including Ben Stokes and Joe Root. Conversely, Bairstow is currently the second-longest serving player for England.
