Because of allegations of abuse at his African charity, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has been asked to resign from his position.
The father of Archie and Lilibet is under increasing pressure from human rights advocates to resign from the African Parks board as the organization looks into claims.
The Times quotes Survival International’s campaigns director Fiore Longo as saying, “We hope he will act as the human rights campaigner he is supposed to be.” Harry discusses social justice. In the past, he has spoken out against racism. He is currently employed as a director.
“You become a member of an organization when you lend your name to it. If human rights are being violated, you have an obligation to take action.
We hope that his resignation from the board of directors will send a strong message to this organization that violations of human rights committed in the name of conservation are no longer acceptable, she continued.
The Sunday Times reported that Prince Harry’s Archewell Foundation earlier responded to the claims of human rights violations by telling the Mail on Sunday that “as soon as the duke learned of these grave accusations, he immediately escalated them to the CEO and chairman of the board of African Parks, the appropriate people to handle next steps.”
