Following calls for his resignation over the antisemitism controversy, the chief of the Met Police is scheduled to meet with the Home Secretary and the Minister of Policing.

It occurred when a police report characterized an antisemitic activist as “openly Jewish” and threatened arrest for “antagonizing demonstrators” because he was close to a pro-Palestine demonstration. The force expressed regret but then had to retract it after implying that those who were against pro-Palestinian demonstrations “must know that their presence is provocative.”.

In addition, Sir Mark is scheduled to meet with London Mayor Sadiq Khan to talk about “community relations” and is anticipated to address groups such as the Community Safety Trust, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and the London Jewish Forum.

The activist who faced arrest threats, Gideon Falter, charged the commissioner of “victim blaming” and stated that Jewish Londoners could not trust the police under Sir Mark’s direction.

Video from the event shows an officer telling Mr. Falter, “You are quite openly Jewish, this is a pro-Palestinian march,” as he attempted to cross the street during the protest in London. I have no charges against you, but I’m concerned about how people will take your presence.
