PESHAWAR: On Saturday, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa declared that a commission would be established to carry out an open investigation into the Bannu incident, which resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and the injuries of several more.
The event occurred one day after a protest march against the deteriorating state of law and order in Bannu district resulted in the deaths of civilians due to gunfire.
The trader community called for the protest, and a full shutter-down strike was observed. They were requesting that the armed organizations that were active in the city and its surrounding areas be taken out.
The stampede caused numerous injuries as well.
“KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has declared the creation of a committee in response to the present crisis in Bannu.According to the advisor, the commission will carry out an open and unbiased inquiry, produce a report that will be made available to the public, and prosecute anyone involved.
In addition, he stressed that the commission’s findings would name the individuals responsible for the incident, emphasizing that prior to the report, rumors and unsubstantiated claims should be avoided.
