Bilal Siddique Kamyana, a Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), has received the second-highest civilian award, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, in appreciation of his public service on Pakistan Day, Saturday.
Under Kamyana’s direction, the crime rate in Lahore fell by 12% over the last five months, and significant progress was made in the arrest of suspects as a result of his optimistic approach.
President Asif Ali Zardari presented the medal to the Lahore CCPO during a Pakistan Day ceremony held at President House earlier today.
Kamyana is a member of the 24th Common Police Service and has worked as the regional police officer (RPO) for the Faisalabad and Sheikhupura areas, the central police officer (CPO) for Rawalpindi, the district police officer (DPO) for Sialkot, Narowal, and Okara, the deputy inspector general (DIG), and the senior of police (SSP) Counter Terrorism Department and other key posts.
Moreover, he also has the experience of working as superintendent of police (SP) operations and other investigation and security wings.
