When Amandeep Singh, 22, was accused of killing Hardeep Singh Nijjar, he was already being held on unrelated gun charges.
In the parking lot of a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, where he served as president the previous year, the 45-year-old Canadian Sikh was shot and killed.
The British Columbia Integrated Homicide Investigation Team stated in a statement that it had “gained sufficient information for the Prosecution Service to charge Amandeep Singh with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder” late on Saturday.
The most recent man is Amandeep Singh, an Indian national who lived in Surrey and Abbotsford, British Columbia, as well as Brampton, Ontario.
Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karanpreet Singh are three Indian nationals who were arrested earlier this month in Edmonton by the police.
First-degree murder and murderous conspiracy were the charges brought against all three of them.
