RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan District on Monday, according to the military’s media arm.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted the operation in response to reports of terrorists in the region.
“During the conduct of the operation, after intense fire exchange, two terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement goes on to say.
According to the ISPR, guns, ammo, and explosives were collected from the killed terrorists, and militants continued to engage in a variety of terrorist actions in the vicinity.
The ISPR further stated that a sanitization effort was underway to eradicate any additional terrorists discovered in the vicinity.
“Local populace appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to security forces in eliminating the menace of terrorism,” the Intergovernmental Panel on Terrorism (ISPR) said.
A day ago, security forces killed a “high-value target” of Daesh, Surat Gul aka Saif Ullah, in an IBO in Khyber district, KP.
According to an ISPR communiqué, security forces reacted quickly to the reported presence of a high-profile terrorist and conducted a raid in the tribal district.
“Weapons, ammo, and explosives were also discovered from the dead terrorist commander, who was still actively involved in a variety of terrorist acts, including target assassination of innocent civilians and extortion, and was wanted by law enforcement agencies.
