Security forces killed two terrorists and injured two others during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) North Waziristan, one of the country’s most militancy-affected regions.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were killed in an intensive exchange of fire during the IBO, which took place on the night of March 19 and 20.
“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” a statement from the military’s media branch said.
It stated that a sanitization operation was underway to destroy any more terrorists discovered in the region, as Pakistan’s security services are determined to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the country.
As the country experiences an increase in terrorist attacks, which have resulted in the deaths of countless citizens and law enforcement officers, security forces have been aggressively acting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and other areas plagued by militancy.
Earlier today, terrorists attempted to attack and enter the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) facility in the port city, but their plans were stopped.
A group of at least eight gunmen assaulted the GPA facility, but security personnel responded quickly and stopped the attack, killing all of the terrorists from the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), according to Geo News, citing sources.
