In the wake of mob attacks on international students in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided emergency contact numbers for Pakistani students.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch said that the Pakistani embassy has activated emergency helplines and is answering questions from students and their families in a message posted on her X handle.
According to her, senior Kyrgyz officials and Pakistan’s ambassador, Hasan Zaigham, have been in constant communication.
She said, “Four Pakistanis received first aid, were released, and one is receiving treatment for a jaw injury.”
In order to voice the concerns of Pakistani nationals in Bishkek, where violent mobs attacked international students, including those from Pakistan, Ambassador Zaigham also met with Imangaziev Almaz, the deputy foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan.
