ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and three other lawmakers in connection with terrorism-related allegations related to vandalism at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad.
A number of the current and past leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been arrested at the I-9 police station in Islamabad on terrorism-related allegations.
In addition to Gandapur, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, the former deputy speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Aamer Mehmood Kiani, the leader of Istehkam-e-Pakistan, and Raja Rashid Hafeez, the leader of the Pakistan Turki Party.
Umer Tanveer Butt, the former leader of the PTI, was also designated an absconder due to his persistent absence from the judicial proceedings.
Nonetheless, PTI leader Faisal Javed’s request for a waiver of presence was granted by the court.
