Several notable personalities, including Cameron Bure, denounced the performance, which was widely perceived as a parody of the iconic Leonardo da Vinci painting depicting Jesus and his apostles at “The Last Supper.”
“To watch such an incredible and wonderful event that’s going to take place over the next two weeks and see the opening ceremonies completely blaspheme and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting, and it made me so sad,” Cameron Bure posted to Instagram on Friday.
Sweetin defended the event on Monday, calling the people who took offense to it naive in the field of art history.

Alongside a video ridiculing the ceremony’s detractors, Sweetin allegedly commented, “Tell me you don’t know about art or history without TELLING me you don’t know about art or history.”
Sweetin defended the contentious performance on Instagram by sharing another post that purported to be about the “feast of Dionysus,” a Greek god associated with pleasure, alcohol, and fertility.
