One of Manchester United’s eight games in the league stage of the redesigned Europa League—the draw for which took place in Monaco on Friday—will take them to the Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce, now led by Jose Mourinho.
Under Mourinho’s coaching, the Old Trafford team won the Europa League in 2017. Fenerbahce, who lost in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, just hired him as their coach.
Notably, United will also go to Portugal to play Porto, another of Mourinho’s former teams, and host Rangers, the 2022 Europa League runners-up.
The other English team in the competition, Tottenham Hotspur, will also play Rangers, but they’ll do it away from home.
