Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif would deliver a “victory speech” after obtaining the final results of the 2024 general elections, according to his party, which claims to be in communication with independent candidates, the majority of whom are sponsored by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz spoke to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: “As contrary to the misleading perception purposefully generated by a segment of the media last night, PML-N, Alhamdulillah, emerged as the single largest party in the centre and Punjab.
“Results were pending. MNS will travel to PML-N headquarters for the victory address as soon as the final results are received. Insha’Allah. “Stay tuned,” she stated.
On the other hand, PML-N leader Ishaq Dar stated that the independent candidates who won the 2024 general elections are in communication with the party.
“The independents have contacted us, and they will join any party within the next 72 hours, as per the Constitution,” said the former finance minister in an interview with Geo News on Friday, as election results continued to come in.
Dar stated that the PML-N cannot force anyone to join the party, and that they are being approached by candidates who want to join their party.
