Google has released the first test build of new software for Android, which will provide consumers with a game-changing improvement by preventing their phone from continually pinging with notifications.
The change, which is slated to be deployed later this year, follows a surprise upgrade by the tech business earlier this year that allows users to edit messages, according to The US Sun.
Tech aficionados have uncovered a new function called “Notification cooldown” in the Android 15 beta, which is great for individuals who have received too many warnings from the same source, such as many WhatsApp messages or heavy work emails.
According to the feature description, the utility reduces the number of alerts that ping your phone all at once by “gradually lowering the notification volume when you get.”
It provides three options: apply to all notifications, apply to chats, and turn it off.
The planned feature is described as a “game changer” on the Android Authority website.
“What’s gonna happen to me!” one person joked. “I’m that guy who does it.”
Another said, “I only need this because my children can’t seem to grasp putting more than one sentence in a text.”
Android 15, codenamed Vanilla Ice Cream, is expected to include a slew of new features and design improvements, with the first beta offering an early glimpse of what to anticipate.
Some of the updates that are likely in the works include partial screen sharing, greater in-app camera options, and the return of lock screen widgets.
