After receiving a stage four lung cancer diagnosis, the seasoned journalist disclosed that she is thinking of going to Switzerland for an assisted death. She stated that terminally ill people should have the “right to choose”.
Liam McArthur, a Liberal Democrat MSP, has introduced a bill in the Scottish parliament that, if approved, would permit individuals in Scotland who have a terminal disease to get assistance in ending their lives.

The existing legislation is harsh, convoluted, and inflicts great pain on those who are most in need of it.
I have been inundated with letters from those who have experienced the excruciating loss of close ones. This truly is a matter of life and death, and I think that those of us who are terminally sick, like myself, should have the freedom to select this course of action should our condition become intolerable.
