Liam McArthur, a Liberal Democrat MSP, has introduced a bill in the Scottish parliament that, if approved, would permit individuals in Scotland who have a terminal disease to get assistance in ending their lives.
Dame Esther remarked, “I would like to commend the Scottish parliament for giving this discussion top priority so they can thoroughly examine this historic assisted dying law and give careful thought to this important matter.

One supporter of Mr. McArthur’s Assisted Dying For Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill is Patricia Donoghue, a former nurse.
