The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which was formed by Imran Khan, filed a request with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday asking for permission to open its central secretariat in the nation’s capital.
The PTI Central Secretariat was partially demolished by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday due to a “violation of building rules,” which drew harsh criticism from the party that was once in power.
According to the CDA, an operation was started by its anti-encroachment squad to get rid of encroachment and illegal construction.
Following the PTI’s concerns being raised in the Senate, Omar Ayub Khan, the secretary general of the party, filed the plea today, adding the secretary of interior, chief commissioner, chairman of the CDA, and the Inspector General of Islamabad as parties to the case.
The PTI leader stated in his plea that “neither an order nor a notice was ever delivered upon the petitioner, hence, the impugned act of the respondents is due to malafide intention, blackmailing, without due process of law and violation of principle of natural justice and also contrary to Article 4 and 10-A of the Constitution.”
The petitioner argued that PTI, through its members Arshad Dad and Naseem ur Rehman, purchased commercial plot Number 1-A situated at Shopping Centre, Sector G-8/4-2 from Sartaj Ali in 2020.
