Senator Faisal Javed of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged from hiding on Monday and was granted travel bail by the Peshawar High Court.
PHC Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan approved the PTI leader’s transit bail petition after he had not been seen in public in several months.
The judge granted Javed relief against Rs 100,000 bail bonds and directed the PTI senator to appear before the appropriate court.
Speaking to journalists outside the court, he expressed his satisfaction at being granted bail and emphasized that “everyone is going through testing times.” I pray that all oppressed people return home.
The same judge also granted PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister nominee Ali Amin Gandapur’s transit bail petition against Rs100,000 bail bonds in a case filed against him in Islamabad.
PHC’s CJ Khan also approved PTI secretary general and Prime Minister’s Office nominee Omar Ayub Khan last week in two dozen cases filed against him around the country.
Several PTI leaders are either hiding or in jail after the party’s followers trashed state installations on May 9, the same day that PTI founder Imran Khan was jailed in a fraud case.
