Ukraine Strikes Two Russian Oil Refineries
Massive smoke plumes may be seen rising from the location of the Russian Slavneft-Yanos oil plant.
Ukraine claimed to have struck two oil refineries in many attacks deep into Russia, along with patrol boats.
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the strikes targeted the Slavneft-Yanos and Bashneft-Novoil refineries in an effort to reduce the amount of oil that Moscow “uses to finance” its war.
Mikhail Evraev, the regional governor of Yaroslavl, said that the “largest enemy drone attack” had set Slavneft-Yanos on fire. According to him, four persons were hurt.
In the meanwhile, the southern city of Kherson reported a complete blackout, and Ukraine claimed that Russian assaults had killed at least 11 people. Fuel was the aim, according to Russia.
Major cities, oil infrastructure, and warehouses have been the target of increased bombardment by both Russia and Ukraine in recent weeks.
The broad front line has remained essentially unchanged, and all attempts to mediate an end to the conflict have failed.

Zelensky stated on Thursday that Slavneft-Yanos was over 700 kilometers (435 miles) from the Ukrainian border. While the damaged Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Russia’s Bashkortostan province was roughly 1,300 kilometers (808 miles) away.
Huge Fire Erupts at Russian Oil Refinery
The president of Ukraine said that “two military patrol boats and shadow fleet vessels were hit” in the Black Sea. Alluding to tankers that Russia used to transport sanctioned oil illegally.
“Russia must choose peace,” Zelensky said, adding that Ukrainian assaults were “strengthening chances for diplomacy”.
Evraev said 93 drones were shot down over Yaroslavl region overnight.
“Falling debris hit the oil refinery’s storage tanks. Emergency services are working to extinguish the fire,” he added.
Russian Drone Attacks Kill Five in Ukraine
In one of the verified images there appear to be at least four fires at the site.
Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Yaroslavl’s energy-generating infrastructure.
In Ukraine, three persons were murdered in the town of Balakliya, Kharkiv region, in a nighttime Russian drone strike, the country’s official emergency agency DSNS stated.
It said private residential houses were targeted, with fires reported in two buildings.
Kharkiv regional head Oleh Synehubov later said that another two people were killed when drones attacked the train station in Lozova. Eight more persons suffered injuries.
Russian Attacks Kill Civilians Across Ukraine
According to local authorities, Russian attacks on the central Dnipropetrovsk region later on Thursday claimed five lives.
According to regional director Oleksandr Prokudin, a “critical infrastructure facility” in the south was damaged overnight. leaving the whole city of Kherson without electricity.
Russia struck two dry cargo ships at the Black Sea port of Odesa in Ukraine, killing one person.
