The president has stated that the lower house of parliament is still unfinished due to the non-allocation of some reserved seats, they noted.
While the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has assigned reserved seats to political parties, the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has not received a reserved quota since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidates joined their ranks.
The ECP has claimed that the issue of SIC reserved seats is “pending before the commission”.
According to insiders, the president neither rejected nor accepted the report and just provided a verbal remark on the topic.

The interim government has stated that the NA session will take place on February 29, even if the president does not sign the summary under Article 91 of the Constitution.
In a statement, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ishaq Dar stated that if the president did not act in accordance with the Constitution, the National Assembly speaker could convene the session on February 29.
According to sources, the caretaker federal administration maintains that Article 91 (2) of the Constitution requires the National Assembly to convene within 21 days of the general elections.
If the president does not sign the summary, the lower house session will be held on February 29, as required by the Constitution, according to caretakers.
Earlier this week, caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi said that the first session of the new National Assembly might be called on any date between February 22 and February 29.
