With prices continuing to drop, Pakistan’s solar energy business is undergoing a notable change. The price per watt has decreased to approximately Rs. 30 to Rs. 32.
Compared to April of this year, when prices ranged from Rs39 to Rs40 per watt, this represents a decrease.
Solar panels used to cost Rs 80 per watt, but today they only cost Rs 37.
A decline in international rates and an increase in local supply are the reasons for the price reduction. Solar panels are now available for as little as Rs28 per watt.
According to recent revelations by Federal Minister Owais Leghari, Pakistan imported 8,000 megawatts of solar panels in a single year.
