Still, a sizable portion of our panel—voters who were still unsure—were dissatisfied with both candidates.
Our panel was divided when asked if the leaders’ performances had affected how they planned to vote.

A voter compared Sir Keir Starmer to the late Conservative prime minister John Major, calling him “boring, but probably the man we need right now.” Another remarked that Starmer had “energy” and was “more relatable.”

Some panelists felt that Rishi Sunak sounded “defeated,” while others claimed that although he seemed to address more questions, they didn’t truly agree with all he said.

More than 40 seats and a range of political philosophies are represented in our unique voters panel, which was assembled by pollster YouGov.

Inquiring about people’s most memorable moments at the leaders’ event, we got quick responses.

A voter commented: “I found it interesting how Rishi Sunak was adamant that he was helping with immigration and was a Brexiteer, and actually immigration has gone up.”

When questioned about his prior backing of Jeremy Corbyn, Sir Keir’s response was also brought up. “He knew that they were going to lose the last election and nevertheless still endorsed Jeremy Corbyn,” a participant informed us.

We inquired about the three terms that our panel of voters connected with each of the two leaders.
